Athens, Greece | Hellinikon Project | Form Atlarge
We were commissioned to develop the vision for a state-of-the-art Experience Centre as part of the largest urban regeneration investment in Greece — the Hellinikon Project. Conceived as a global benchmark for technology-enabled storytelling environments, the Centre establishes a narrative gateway to the Future & Heritage City.
The spatial strategy centres on a primary presentation environment, framed by a clearly defined entrance and exit positioned at the front of the space. This arrangement focuses visitor attention on the central feature while encouraging dwell time and maintaining visual connections to key city markers beyond.
A projection-mapped physical model forms the heart of the experience. Combined with a wrap-around projection surface, the installation creates an immersive and dynamic composition of forms. The seamless integration between model and media generates a cohesive storytelling environment, where physical and digital elements operate as one.
We were invited to develop creative responses for Future & Heritage district, the proposed Marina, and the proposed Park. Each zone was conceived as a distinct experiential environment, capable of standing independently while contributing to a cohesive overarching narrative. Within each area, layered storytelling strategies were introduced to enrich the visitor journey. Complementary deep-dive exhibits provided additional levels of detail, supporting the broader masterplan vision through focused content and expanded interpretation.
My role focused on the early concept phase, assisting in transforming the overarching narrative into a coherent architectural language. Using 3D modelling and visual exploration, I investigated form, spatial character, and defining experiential moments within the gateway and atrium environments. Through the production of detailed visualisations, I conveyed proportion, material expression, and lighting atmosphere to both internal teams and clients, helping to ensure the storytelling ambition was fully realised in built form.
